Parameter passing within a ASP page

Hi,

Iâ€™ve developed a ASP page that searches a database on our web server. Iâ€™ve
created a html form that passes parameters to a SQL statement on the ASP
page. Everything was working well until a few days ago, when the parameter
were still passed to the ASP page, but the data doesnâ€™t seem to reach the SQL
statement.

In the ASP page, Iâ€™ve printed the parameter field to the screen so I know
the correct data is there. To investigate my problem, Iâ€™ve gone back to
basicâ€™s. Iâ€™ve created a new ASP page using the wizard with FrontPage. I
allowed the wizard to create a parameter field that you can input directly on
screen, which then feeds through to the SQL. This all works fine.

I then removed the part of the script the allows you to do the input, and
replaced it with a static field as follows:

Although the data is held in the â€˜Infoâ€™ field, the SQL statement doesnâ€™t use
it !

Once I go back to passing parameters from a HTML form to a ASP page, the
Info field will be populated by using the request.querystring("Info")
function. I canâ€™t understand why the page works fine if you use a â€˜inputâ€™ on
the page, but doesnâ€™t work when your passing parameters.

Any help would be appreciated.

fp_sQry="SELECT * FROM Sol_voidlist where bedrooms=::Info::"

Why not change the line above to the line below:

fp_sQry="SELECT * FROM Sol_voidlist where bedrooms='" & Info & "'"

Hi Mike,

Tried what you have suggested, but the FrontPage only takes the first
portion of the fp_sQry.

Eg. fp_sQry="SELECT * FROM Sol_voidlist where bedrooms='"

The remaining bit of the query is ignored because it's outside the double
quotes !

Any other suggestions ?
