Adding a new contact. In the "Phone Number", even setting the phone number to (123) 4567-8901, the brackets are not displayed when entering the eleven figures, only if you enter 10 numbers is displayed.

The Entourage is the last update.

Excuse the English, because I do not speak English and I am using a translation tool.

Do you mean the parentheses "(" and ")"?

Entourage does not automatically format your phone number and will not
insert parentheses for you. You must do this yourself.

If I enter the phone number above as you have it:

(123) 4567-8910

then Entourage does not change the format. It leaves it just as I typed it.

Can you provide step-by-step instructions for us to reproduce this problem?

If you type 5551235555, Entourage will format it as (555) 123-5555. If you
type 555 123-5555, it will leave it as is.

Poorly worded on my part. I should have said "Entourage does not
automatically *reformat* your phone number and will not insert
parentheses for you." Yes, you must enter the number as one long string
of numbers to take advantage of automatic formatting.

Be sure to check Entourage menu --> Preferences... --> Address Book for
various formats available to use with phone numbers.

Sorry I do not express well. The point is that if I click on the Entourage menu, Preferences, Address Book, Phone Numbers field, select the format (123) 4567-8901 or (123)4567-8901, when create a new contact and I type the phone without entering the brackets, ie, inserting the 11 direct numbers, he does not like formats (123) 4567-8901 (example) and is as 1234567-8901. Now if I select the format with 10 numbers, or the format (12) 3456-7890, he inserts the brackets without the need to enter them, just insert the numbers he puts the parentheses.

As I understand it, if I select the format with 11 numbers have to actually insert the brackets manually, correct?

I see the problem too! If you select the 11 number format that you
mention in your message then the automatic formatting does not work.
This must be a bug.

Please report this problem using the Help menu --> Send Feedback tool.
This is the best way to alert Microsoft to the problem.

I cannot think of a work around to this problem.
