Partial path in footer

When inserting the filename and path into a footer, I don't require the full
path name as much of it is standard, e.g. instead of C:\Documents and
Settings\TGB\My Documents\Personal\Placer\Group1\10102004
Service.doc I would like just:

\Placer\Group1\10102004 Service.doc.

Of course, I could type it in but I would like this automatically. Is there
any way of doing this?

Hi,

Word's filename field allows you have just the filename & extension, or
those plus the full path - there is no in-between setting. However, if
you're doing this sort of thing often, you might consider using a filename
field that inserts the whole catastrophe then, when you've settled on the
file's final folder, selecting the field and pressing Ctrl-Shift-F9 to turn
it into normal text. You can then delete the path parts you don't want.

Cheers
