Pass Through Queries are Slow after upgrade

We recently converted an Access 97 Database to Access
XP. After the conversion, the pass-through queries
became extremely slow. The queries connect to a Adaptive
Server Anywhere 7.0 database. We've tried modifying the
ODBC settings, but with no success. I've updated MDAC
and jet engine service pack to the latest and greatest.
Any suggestions?
