Webs unlimited has a jbot called Page Protect Pro. It
allows you to select one or more pages and have them
accessed only from a password.
Passwords are stored in an access database. You can add
as many users to the database as you need.
This works better than sub-webs for a variety of reasons
and is easy to implement.
