password after sleep

Running XP Pro Sp3 with Office Pro 2003.
Recently had to reinstall Office so as to be able to install Office 2003 Sp3
and other updates. Procedure went well but after this was done, every time I
walk away from my computer for a few minutes and the monitor shuts down
(sleep mode I guess), When I return and move the mouse to wake it up, the
log-on screen comes up and I have to enter the password again. Gets to be a
real pain after a while. Can't figure how to turn this off. Would appreciate
any suggestions, Thank you.

Not an Office question. Look at your Windows power settings - the answer is
in there.

Not anything to do with Office. Click Start, Help and Support, and
lookup Standby Password, follow the links.

Yes, I realise it isn't an Office question. However, it did seem to start
after a reinstall/update of Office. That was the only change it could
possibly be attributed to. I had already done the Control Panel/Power
options thing. The box for that is not checked, nor ever was. Just thought
someone might have run into this under similar circumstances. Don't like to
cross-post as that always draws a put down too. Don't know why folks with
nothing helpful to say bother to answer. No life I guess...........

In case anyone is interested, my problem seemed to be connected to the
screen saver, which naturally will come on before standby mode. Found it by
right-clicking desktop/screen saver tab/unclick'on resume, display welcome
screen/apply'.

Fixed my problem, Thanks to those that answered,

Sorry to have mentioned something you already looked at, but didn't
mention. Multi-posting(multiple posts in different groups) is the
problem that people have an issue with not crossposting(one message to
several appropriate groups).
