Password box appearing behind a document..

Background; Office 2003 SP2, a user has a word document that has links on to
other word/excel document on network drives.

One of the links is to an excel document that is password protected, when
the user Ctrl&left clicks this link it gives the impression that the PC has
locked up as the password box has appeared behind the document with the links
on and can't be minimized by the top right minimize button.

I have got round it by left clicking the document on the taskbar to minimize
it then put the password in, however is there any way that I can get the
password box to appear ontop of all other windows?
