Password disappears

Please either answer or refer me to the best news group to post this
message. I posted it on alt.online-service.microsoft -- but don't know if
that one will be answered. (Few messages there are answered.)

For the last few days I have had to paste in my password when I attempt to
connect to ATT Worldnet from the desktop shortcut. This happens even tho I
have selected the save password option. ATT Worldnet referred me to
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;818895&Product=winxp
but this refers ONLY to a prior fix: "329310 The Time to Connect with Remote
Access Continues to Grow". This would not apply to me unless this 329310 fix
might have been installed without my knowing it through my automatic
updates.

Assuming this is not the cause, how can I get my password to stay?

I use Windows XP home edition.

Thanks,

Rachel

You'll want to post on microsoft.public.windowsxp.network_web, or .general.
