I was playing with security permissions while trying to figure out how
to password protect a subweb in FrontPage 2000. I started out by
selecting "Use unique positions for this web" on the Settings tab.
After that I couldn't figure out how to add any users, so I went back
to the Settings tab and selected "Use same permissions as parent web."
Now Frontpage keeps prompting me for a user name and password if I try
to edit the subweb, and it will not accept the password that works for
the root web. I can't even make changes with FTP; I get "access
denied" messages if I try to get into the subweb folder. The host
(godaddy) told all I could do was reset the password for the hosting
account, but that didn't help.
What did I do, and is there a way to undo it? I would like to be able
to edit the subweb again, but failing that, I would like to be able to
delete it.
Thanks,
