Password is not saved in Outlook - can't change Protected Storage

Hi -
In Outlook 2003, the password does not save no matter how many times I check
the "save my password" box - a "Type your password" box pops up when I hit
the "Send/Receive" (when testing the settings, no problem). I've reloaded
Office 2003 and attempted to remove and reset the Protected Storage System
Provider Registry key (per instructions on microsoft.com) - Office won't let
me "replace Permission Entries on all Child Objects with Entries Shown..."
and there are no Sub-key showing under the "Protected Storage System
Provider" Key (as the instructions indicate).

Any idea?
