Password not saving in Entourage 11.2.1

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: imap

I have seen this problem described extensively with reference to an update 12.1.5 but thought I would mention that it randomly happens to me and I am using Entourage version 11.2.1.

The simply cure is to restart the computer. Everything works fine for a few day/weeks and then the problem re occurs.

It almost feels as if some other application I am using (Parrallels?) causes this problem but I haven't been able to find out which.

Unfortunately I do not have the original disc so a reinstall is not an option. If I have missed any solution, please let me know.

Regards

Thanks for your reply.

I have tried running keychain first aid as described and resetting up the email accounts but still sporadically have the same problem.

This problem seems specific to Entourage and as it has also affected later versions. I wonder if it has something to do with Leopard?

To check if it is your identity you can try to setup your account in a brand
new identity in Entourage, this may help.
http://www.entourage.mvps.org/how_to/new_identity.html

To determine if it is another application doing this, you can try a new Mac
user and setup your account in the new user, in a new user everything is set
to default. In the new user open just Entourage from the Applications folder
and setup your account.
To create a new Admin account go to the Apple and System Preferences, in
System preferences go to accounts and in Accounts setup a new Admin account.
Then logout of your existing user and go to the brand new MAc user account
and try Entourage.

Are you prompted to type your password? and if so do you try to re-enter
your password, what happens when you cancel the password promt? I have seen
server issues where the password was not taken and then after re-entering
the password, the password dissapears from Entourage.

Sporadically might indicate your server.

This seems to be an ongoing problem for most users. It's a guess as to what
is causing the failures because it involves multiple applications and
servers.
