Password problem

I have an Xcel file that is password protected. I have opened the file
before, but now, when I type in the password, it refuses to open up. Is it
possible to break past this password? How could the password be different
now? Is there any way I can get at the data inside. It's a spreadsheet I
made to keep track of college grades.

Any help would be appreciated.

I suspect the password isn't different, you're just not remembering
it precisely. Note that file passwords are case sensitive - have you
tried alternate capitalization?

Most of the free and low-cost software to crack XL passwords runs
under Windows, but there are some services out there that will crack
your file if you send it to them.

Do a google search for Excel password crack and you'll be sure to
find one.

I've never used any of them, but I know that

http://lostpassword.com

gets a number of recommendations, but they're expensive.

http://www.password-crackers.com

is considerably cheaper. OTOH, you have to be comfortable giving
your credit card number to people who crack encryption for a living
(not that I have even an inkling that the above companies are
anything but straight up).
