password problems

I am using access 2002 with ms 2000 professional. I
imported a table over to MS excel so I could analyze the
data. All of a sudden I picked up a database password
request when I did not set one up, nor did I verify a
password. Know the password request has propogated over to
may other independent access files. In fact I can not even
get access to create a new blank database without a
password. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

If it is asking for a login userid and password each time you open access...
You need to use the MS Workgroup Administrator to rejoin your default
workgroup. This assumes that the default workgroup on your pc has not been
changed and does not have a password associated with it.

If it is a true database bassword (single prompt) then someone had to set
it. They can't magically appear. I guess corruption could cause it and you
might try compact and repair. If that does not work, you could dowmload and
run JETCOMP to try and repair it. But, I have never heard of a database
password just appearing by itself.
