Password protect data entry

Erin

Hi -
I'm brand new to Access and I've built a sizeable (yet basic) database using
Access 2007. I would like to protect my data tables and not allow users to
edit data fields/records. I want them to view but not edit. In a perfect
world they could query, build reports etc...but not change information
already stored in the data fields.

From what I've read this isn't possible but I thought I would ask!

Thanks so much!!

Erin,

You could set the Allow Edits to No and maybe you also don't them adding new
which means you should also set the Allow Additions to No. But for the life
of me I don't understand the point of the database if all they can do is
look at it. How does the data get in there? How are corrrections made?
