Password Protected Databases

I placed a password-protected database on LAN for users'
access. However, nhen you open another database, a prompt
appears for a database password, even though you did not
set a database password for the database. Once you set a
password for a particular database, does Access put the
same password criteria on the application as a whole? If
so, how can I get around this?
