Password protected ppt files in mac Office V.X

Is there any way to open password protected power point presentations
in mac office V.X? I believe the files were created on a PC. They
refuse to open and it never asks for a password, it just says they
could not be opened. On windows XP the same file worked correctly,
asked for a password and opened immediatly,

Any Suggestions?

we don't have password protection in X ask the win user to remove the
pass and resave, should it be critical to protect the file you can't
zip it and password protect the archive.

You'll have to get the file's creator to send you a non-password protected
version. Versions of PPT that don't support creating PPTs with passwords can't
open protected PPTs either.

OOPS: you CAN zip it and password protect the archive.

It depends on the reason for passwording the PPT file.
If they applied a view-only/no-edit password, they may not want to turn it
loose unprotected (as it would be if they allowed it to be extracted from a
password protected zip
