Password Protection of MSP Schedule with multiple linked schedules

Elizabeth M.

I have a program of projects that I'm managing through MS Project 2007. I
want to be able to password protect the main schedule while allowing other
project managers to update their linked projects without impacting the main
schedule. Is this possible or do the other project managers also need edit
rights?

Hello Elizabeth,

When you create the master schedule it automatically links to each
subproject. If the project managers open and modify their schedule,
the master schedule will be updated when it is next opened.
Likewise, if the master schedule is modified the changed information
will also show in the subprojects.

You may insert the subprojects without links to the subprojects.
You'll then essentially have a "snapshot" of what the projects were
when the master file was create. To see the latest information you
can re-create the master project as needed.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
