I have a document that I password protected about 6
months ago. I have not used the document for many months
and unfortunately I have forgotten the password and
wondered if there was any way that I can get into the
file without knowing the password.

Hi (e-mail address removed),

You can try searching the internet for password crackers.
There are some out there, some are even free. But whether
they'll be able to crack your document will depend to a

Alert

Hi Aileen,

Yes, it is possible to find a lost/forgotten password in an MS Word
document.

There are many good tools available to download for this purpose:

Some tools are available for free:

N.B. Please do not crack any password unless you are fully authorised
to access the file.

Regards,

C.B.
