Hello,

I have a Word document that is Password protected. How can I get rid of the
password?

The password is stored within the doc and can be read or changed with a hex
editor.

You may find it easier to use a commercial product that runs brute-force
and/or dictionary-based attacks on the document. There are a number of these
products around and many have a free trial period. Try a Google for: word
password recovery

Remove or change a password

Open the document.
Enter the password when prompted.
On the Tools menu, click Options, and click the Security tab.
In the Password to open box or the Password to modify box, select the
placeholder symbols (usually asterisks) that represent the existing
password.
Do one of the following:

To remove the password, press DELETE, and then click OK.

To change the password, type the new password, and then click OK.

If you changed the password, reenter the new password, and then click
OK.
