password recovery needed for outlook express

I have downloaded software from OEPR for getting your passwords - it is not a
free ware.........and did not work.
Someone must have a better solution, Im needing my emails that I can not get
into due to the password I was sure I had used for many years - not working
now.
Help someone some where out there,
