This question is about Outlook Express 6(latest version). This is the closest
forum available.
I carefully followed the new account instructions from Windows Live Hotmail
for importing into Outlook Express. Send/receive resulted in this message:
There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was
rejected. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'pop3.live.com', Protocol: POP3, Server
Response: '-ERR mailbox for (e-mail address removed) is not available', Port:
995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number:
0x800CCC92mporting pop3 mail (Hotmail) into Outlook Express.
The password and e-mail are correctly entered! Triple checked!
For years this has worked fine, but since Windows Live Mail has been around,
I've been having issues with OE downloading only Hotmail folders, but not the
Hotmail inbox. In trying to debug this, I entered the new account settings
for Windows Live Hotmail, and now I can't import anything.
XP Home SP2, IE7 v.7.o.5730.13, OE6 v.6.00.2900.2180.
I know Microsoft said they were no longer supporting OE, but later they
changed their minds, and now they are supporting it again.
Can anybody out there help me with this?
