paste a large Excel table to Word

I am trying to paste a large table from Excel to Word, but
it is not copying all columns. The first several columns
are pasted ok, but the latter ones are absent. I have
tried pasting in different formats (including pasting as
an enhanced metafile using Paste-Special) but the results
are the same. I have no idea why it is not capturing all
highlighted text. Any help is appreciated.
