Paste Command does not function in Word 2007

When I try to paste (using the edit menu or keyboard keys) an item that I
have stored on the clipboard in Word 2007, I receive an error message as
follows:

Microsoft Visual Basic "The macros in this project are disabled. Please
refer to the online help or documentation of the the host application to
determine how to enable macros."

Following instructions provided in another thread, I have enabled the
Developer tab in Word and changed the settings in the "macro security"
section to permit macros of all types to run (incl. potentially harmful
ones). This does not solve the problem.

There is a macro in the list of pre-installed macros entitled, "EditPaste".
It cannot, however, be viewed or deleted (relevant keys in macro editor are
dead/disabled).

This problem is unique to MS Word. Cut & Paste functions are working
normally in other Office 2007 applications and all other programs.

I suggest you re-enable macro security at this point :)

Exactly what did you do (what steps did you follow) when you found the "pre-
installed macro"? (Word does not have any pre-installed macros, but there is
such a thing as "Word commands" you can view in the Macros dialog box. We need
to know if that's where you found it, or in some other list.)

Please also try holding down the Ctrl key when starting Word, to put it into
Safe Mode. Can you paste while Word is in Safe Mode?

If not, how about if you start Windows in Safe Mode?
