paste data in different sheet but skip rows.

Hi,

I would like to copy a column of names from one sheet to another but would
like to paste the data into every second row.

i.e. Sheet1!A7 goes to Sheet2!A7 ; Sheet1!A8 goes to Sheet2!A9 ; Sheet1!A9
goes to Sheet2!A11 etc.

I have seen similar posts / answers using the INDEX formula but can't work
out how to make it work for me!

Any help would be much appreciated!

In sheet2, cell A7, enter

=IF(MOD(ROW(),2)=1,INDEX(Sheet1!$A$7:$A$5000,ROW(A2)/2),"")

and copy down as far as you need.
