Paste link dates from Project to Excel

Dan

I have a need to paste link dates from a 2000 Project
file to a 2002 Excel file. When I do the paste link it
brings over the entire task over to excel as an object.
I just want the date to appear in excel. Does anyone
know if this is possible?

Try this:

1. In Microsoft Project, select the cell containing the date you want to
paste into Excel (di not select the entire task)
2. Click Edit - Copy
3. In Excel, click Edit - Paste Special...
4. In the Paste Special dialog box, select the "Paste link" and the "Text"
options
5. Click OK
6. Make sure that the cell in which you paste is formatted for Date

Hope this helps.
