Paste Link to Word From Excel

I am trying to paste a link to some cells into a Word doc from a separate Excel File. In Excel, I do Edit -Copy. Then in Word, I do Edit - Paste Special - Paste Link - Excel Object; however, when I do this only a few columns show up...instead of the several columns I had highlighted and copied. Any thoughts?

Based on a number of reports it appears that the feature is - temporarily -
broken in 2008. However, the MacBU team is aware of the problem & is working
on a fix. How soon to expect it I can't say.
