Paste option does not appear to be functioning correctly?

I have two different versions of Office 2007 that are installed on different
laptops. In the last week or so, I have noticed (as has one of my
co-workers!) alot of problems with getting the Cut/Paste or Copy/Paste to
work. The text will be cut from the documents but nothing pastes in and I
have to undo. Also, when trying to open .docx files, Office keeps going into
setup. I uninstalled, reinstalled and updated both versions to no avail. I
don't know if this came over in a prior update. I am wasting so much time
re-typing information I am never going to meet my deadline...any suggestions?

Cut and Paste problems are always down to legacy third party add-ins that
are incompatible with Word or with the Office Clipboard. You need to isolate
and remove the add-in that is causing the problem.

I'm guessing from your post that you may have 2 versions of Office installed
and you need to edit the registry to stop the reconfiguration each time you
swap versions?

Yes. I had come across a post in Office that said to run reg add
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Options /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1
as well as reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Options /v
NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1 to eliminate that but it didn't work. Not my
day...should have stayed in bed.
