paste options default in XP powerpoint

Complaints about office XP Powerpoint,

1. I use the superscript/subscript and symbols in my
scientific presentations and I find it very annoying to
have to click and select the special options to PRESERVE
the original formatting when pasting carefully formatted
text into a new text box. I have tried to find out how to
change the default paste and also set up a "paste special"
but both require several extra clicks. On the other hand it
seems that Powerpoint in Office2000 does not have this
annoying feature.

Does anyone know how to change the default paste
option when pasting into a new text box ??

2. When I go back and make a letter/character into a
superscript of subscript the program seems to automatically
assume that I want all future typing to retain this same
font type. How can I turn off this "feature" ?? I
understand that this is desirable when you are doing the
input of new information -- BUT when one has text beyond
the present highlighted characters it does not make sense
to me to change the global environment.

Thanks for your help.
