Paste PDF with formatting

I tried pasting text from a copied PDF file into Word. Even when I pasted
formatted text, all font sizes and boldfacing was lost, making the document
one of run-on sections and needing serious editing. The fonts also changed,
and their names were changed from real names to some 13-character
alpha-numeric code.

How do I paste a PDF file into Word, while preserving formatting? (I mean,
we're talking about two programs used by zillions of people. Come on,
people!)

Correction: the font sizes were preserved, but a single font was used
(although its 13 character code varied according to formats in the original).
Also, word-wrap carriage returns were replaced by hard returns; even editing
the document now becomes more complicated!

You would need to have the full version of Acrobat ($$) to do that. It's a
much better "translation" of the pdf file into Word, but still not a perfect
export. Unless you are willing to spend the money for the full Acrobat,
you'll have to contend with replacing the hard returns, etc.

In order to convert a basically perfect translation of PDF into Word you
could also invest in "PDF Converter Assistant" software. It will translate
formatting, tables, graphics just as they are in the PDF document, but it
will be in Word format.

If you think it is worth the $$$ it is a wonderful tool. Not very expensive.
