paste powerpoint figure as picture into Word 2004

Hi,
Has anyone had a problem to copy a powerpoint 2004 figure, which has
some text on it, and pasted special as a picture into word 2004? Everytime,
when I pasted special a figure created at powerpoint 2004 as a picture into
word 2004, the text of the picture seemed blured. But when I open the
document at Office XP, the figure seemed OK. Does anyone know where the
problem might be? It was not a problem at Office X. The text seemed
perfectly.

I think I have a similar problem. The resolution of the picture, both
on screen and the laser printout, is downgraded (just like coming out
from an old inkjet machine). It does not happen when opening the file
in Word X. I can't be sure that the picture is produced by Word X or
some older soft.
I can only find a silly solution for that.
Try to select all the contents in the picture and cut (better group
them first). Close the picture editing window. Then paste the contents
on the top of the empty frame. Then they will look fine and print
fine.

Hi Mr. Tong,
Thank you very much for your response. I just found the solution. Actually,
the text box need to filled with white color.

I think this is a major problem. I have the 30 day trial version of
Word 2004 and therefore can't print. I was assuming this was just a
display issue but you're saying that the problem happens even when you
print.

Your work around is fine if you have access to the original PowerPoint
chart but I pull lots of graphics from old documents and don't have
the ability to edit the original changing text boxes from "No Fill" to
"White". I don't have any problem with Word X. In fact, I've been
using Word 2004... saving documents and printing from Word X but if I
fork over $$$ for the complete 2004 package, I need to be able to
print from Word 2004.

So.. Is the print garbage just like the screen? Do you have multiple
versions on your machine by any chance?

Thakns,
Jim
