paste results double spaced

When I cut from a Word document into another application or an email, it appears in double spacing, which cannot be removed. If I delete a line between sentences, the sentence runs on. Any advice? Thanks!

I think we need to know "Which other application?"

What style are you using to format the paragraphs you are pasting? What
value is the Space Before and Space After set to in that style?

As John says, we need more information to have any chance of helping, but
one likelihood re pasting to email is that your email is set for HTML rather
than Plain Text. If that's the case you have no control over it.
