Paste shortcut disappeared

Somehow, the paste shortcut, AppleV has disappeared on Word. It's still there
on all my other applications--including the rest of the Office suite. And I
can still go to the Edit menu and drop down it to select paste--that still
works. It's just the keyboard shortcut that isn't there.

AppleC is there for copy. AppleV isn't just greyed out or anything. It
doesn't show up next to the word "paste" on the drop down menu.

I've gone in an had a look at the keyboard shortcuts. AppleV wasn't down as
the shortcut for EditPaste so I've added in it (though how it disappeared in
the first place, I haven't a clue).

But even now that I've selected it as the keyboard shortcut for paste, *it
still won't work*.

Needless to say, I'm getting a little frustrated.

Any ideas?

Hi Audree -

Try this: Go to Tools> Customize> Customize Toolbars /Menus. On the Toolbars
page, select the Menu Bar by name (to highlight it, not just have the box
checked) then click the Reset button.

If that doesn't correct it or corrects it only temporarily you probably have
a corrupt preferences file. Have a look at the following link for
testing/replacing the preferences file:
