Paste Special a pain

Hello,
When I copy and paste text into a Word document, the text retains the
style of the source document. I know I can choose "Paste Special" and
then "Unformatted Text" so the text I'm pasting will take on the style
already in the document, but that is quite cumbersome. Is there a way
to make "Ctrl V" default to unformatted text? I am using Word 2000.
Thank you.

It's not really an answer to your question but "Unformatted Paste" can be
made a lot simpler by recording a macro and putting a button for it on the
toolbar. I certainly found it worthwhile.
