Paste special into Word not working

Sam

I have a spreadsheet with 20ish charts that I would like to include in
a Word document. I would like to be able to change the Excel data and
the graphs update automatically in the Word document. I have been
trying to use the paste special and link option.

I can get this working with a simple chart that I used to test how
this would work - so I understand the principle of this but I just
can't get it to work with the more complex spreadsheet.

The charts paste fine into the Word document - but they won't update.
When I use edit link, the source file and item data seems to be
corrupt. My hard disk is named '17" Powerbook HD' and it tries to name
the source file 17. It's like it can't insert the proper path.

Any ideas?

OK, after three days of head scratching I sorted this 5 minutes after
posting this. The problem lies with the name of my hard disk. I took
the '"' out ot the name and it works fine! Sould I report this to MS?

I understand where you're coming from, but there's nor reason to report it
to MS. I would think character restrictions/limitations in names of files,
folders, volumes, etc. are the responsibility of the OS.
