This concerns Word 2003, and is a problem that has only started recently. I
frequently insert pictures or OLE objects such as Visio drawings into my word
documents. In order to reduce the size of the word document I often cut the
item and then use Paste-Special to reinsert the item as an Enhanced metafile
or JPG. in the past this has been fine, but now I sometimes get a completely
blank placeholder, or a placeholder with the image off-centre and partially
obscured. By using the crop tool I can move the boundaries of the placeholder
to get my image back completely - but why is this happening? It is very
time-consuming to have to re-crop every image when I paste it into a document.
