Pasted Tables not exact as original?

Yunus

I've created a table in one word document, when I it paste it into
another document, with the same page settings, the table 'resizes'
itself (some rows double in size) how do I overcome this?

This sure does not sound familiar... I'm not sure we can help you,
but let's take a crack at it.

1. Version of Word?
2. When the rows increase in size, do you mean they show lots of
empty space? Or has the text been "pulled apart" in some way, as
well?
3. Are the table row heights set to "at least" or to an exact height
in the original document?
4. Are you pasting any text, as well, or just a table? If currently
no text, try including some text (a few paragraphs). Does that spread
itself out, as well?

sounds to me as if the Line Height setting may be at fault here. If
you put the insertion mark in some text like this, then look in
Format/Paragraph what do you see as the Line Height setting?

If you create a new table in this document, does the text in the rows
also "pull apart" the same way?

Cannot locate Line Height in Format/Paragraph, but I think I incorrectly
answered Q2... the text does not 'pull apart', some of it transfers to
the net line of same row.

OK, in that case: when you compare font formatting of the
original table to that of the one you pasted, has the font
changed? The font size?

Are the margins the same in the "target" document as in the
orginal?

If you are using Office XP, try the Paste Special options on the SmartTag
when you paste into the new document. I don't remember what these options
are, but there should be one about keeping the formatting of the cut item or
adopting the formatting of the target paragraph.
