In previous versions of Word and Outlook, it was possible to select some
text, select "insert hyperlink", then simple paste the web address into the
dialog box. However, in Word and Outlook 2003, if I (1) highlight a word in
a Word document, (2) go to "insert hyperlink" from the Insert menu (which
brings up the insert dialog box), (3) copy a web address from another
document or program to the clip board, and (4) try to paste it into the
address bar, the paste function will not work. Rather, you have to type in
the address. The simplest work around I have found, using the "Edit
Hyperlink" funtion to replace the address with text, is tedious.
Is it possible to simply paste the hyperlink into the "address" box, when
inserting a hyperlink using "insert hyperlink" from the insert menu? If not,
is there a software add-on that will accomplish the simple task? Thanks.
