Pasting cells from Excel 2003 into Word retains the font color

I have a user who is using Office 2003 on Windows XP SP2 with all the
latest windows updates and when he copies and pastes cells that have
fonts formatted with different colors into Word 2003 with the Paste
Special - (picture) enhanced metafile format, the fonts retain their
colors. When I do this on my computer, with the same O/S and Office
version, the fonts are black (automatic). The user wants the fonts to
be black but for some reason on his machine they retain their colors.
I've tried different Paste Special options to no avail. I also applied
the latest Office patches to his system.

Does anyone have any idea why this would be different on different
systems with the same software?

One has a color printer, the other doesn't?
One has Black & White checked in Excel's Page Setup - Sheet dialog, the
other doesn't?
One has the printer's properties set to B&W/Grayscale, the other doesn't?

There are probably other possibilities as well.

Setting the default printer to a black and white one did the trick.
Thanks

I always thought that the type of printer only mattered when you went
to the Print Preview mode.
