I do a lot of work where I make a lot of charts. I copy one chart and paste
it over and over, then change the data for each chart. The problem is, after
I have pasted a lot of charts, the program does not let me paste any more. I
get an error message saying "No more new fonts may be applied in this
workbook."
For a while, I thought this happened only on the larger files, but now it is
happening on a file that is less than 1 MB. On this particular file, I have
two worksheets with 36 charts each, and four columns of data (3000 rows or
less). The charts are simple 8 point scatter charts with connecting lines.
Previously, I have been able to copy the worksheet within the file (from the
edit menu: "move or copy worksheet"). Then I don't have to copy-paste any
more charts, I just paste in new data. But this time, I got the same "no
more new fonts" message, which repeated itself over and over (maybe for each
new chart it created?). It seemed like it actually copied, but I soon as I
tried to do anything, Excel unexpectedly quit.
In other workbooks, I usually only encountered this problem when I tried to
paste over 200 charts. Those workbooks had a lot more data as well. The
problem also occurs even after I have saved the workbook or relaunched
Excel.
I have installed the latest office updates (10.1.3). I am running the
program on a 1GHz Powerbook with 512 MB of memory, and plenty of hard drive
space available.
Thanks for your help,
