Pasting Enhanced Metafiles with Office 2003

D

Donahue

My office uses a report template in Word and I regularly
pastes tables from Excel into the template (pasting
special as an enhaced metafile).

However, since we recently upgraded to Office 2003,I am
having trouble with such pasting.

Now, when I copy and paste special all I am able to see in
the Word template is the very bottom row of the table. I
can click on it and move it around and re-size it, but it
does not show up on screen. It also does not show up on
print preview, but it DOES show up when I print out a hard
copy.

A few other things to note:

(1) I can successfully paste and enhanced metafile into a
blank Word document (not the template) and see it just
fine.

(2) I was able to successfully paste metafiles into the
report template on a colleague's computer, using Office
2000. I saved that copy of the report to our network and
then opened the file on my machine, using Office 2003. I
could then see the tables. But when I then tried to being
another table in, I had the same problem again.

If anyone knows what the problem is and how to work around
it, I'd appreciate your help.

Hi Donahue,

Just guessing, here... but perhaps the template has become
slightly damaged. That, or your graphics card driver may be
glitching. Or perhaps a combination of the two :)

Since you say it works fine in new documents, you might try
recreating the template. Use copy/Paste to bring across
everything EXCEPT the last paragraph mark to a new document
and see if that works any better?

Hi. Thanks for the suggestions, but unfortunately they did
not do the trick.

The problem is happening on multiple machines in the
office, so I don't think it's the graphics card driver.

I tried re-creating the template as you suggested, but
that did not take care of the problem.

Thanks anyway.
