Are you pasting it as a picture or as an embedded Excel object?

Trying to paste it as a picture. Don't want to embed the spreadsheet. Update: i have now discovered that the first time i save the file, the pictures are not vieweable on windows pc but if i open and resave the file, the pictures become viewable... don't know if standing on my head helps or if msft plans to explain this is a feature of their products..

Probably something to do with picture's default format. Try
PasteSpecial and see if you can paste the picture as a jpg or something
like that.

Hi,

From the sounds of things I bet the Windows user has not updated their
copy of office.

Try holding the shift key down when you use the Edit menu. It will
change "Copy" to Copy Picture when you do that. Then paste the picture.

Jim, thanks about the hint of pressing shift before chosing copy. that is a very nifty shortcut, on the other hand, it makes no difference. I have tested it again, the first time i save the file in powerpoint 08 mac, the images are unreadable to any windows pc (i have tried both mine under parallels and a standalone windowns pc) but it i reopen the file under ppt 08 then resave it (both in ppt 97 mode) it works....
