Pasting from Firefox creates spaces between letters within words

When I copy and paste from Firefox into Word, I end up with all these extra
spaces between letters...

This just started happening a few upgrades ago. : <

I'm on a Mac, 10.5.6, running Word X.

PLEASE HELP!!
