Pasting hyperlinks to files

I understand that ON offers the direct inclusion (not same as attachments?)
of file contents as a option that is seen to be more useful, but I want to
insert hyperlinks. I like that they are much more compact that the icons,
one per line, of the direct inclusion. There is no way I can find to change
that behavior. So, is there a way to insert a series of hyperlinks to files
I have selected in Windows Explorer? I have a workaround (involving a Tcl
script and some magic) but I wonder if I am missing something wonderful in ON.

You can insert just a hyperlinks to a file, and not the file itself. There
are two ways to do this:
1) Insert | Hyperlink, click ((Browse For File)), select your file, and
choose ((OK)) twice.
2) Make sure your OneNote window is not maximized. Select the files you
want in Windows Explorer and drag them onto the OneNote page. When the
prompt comes up, choose to insert hyperlinks to your files.

I hope this answers your question.

Thanks for using OneNote!

Bruce,

The option 1 is not preferred for a series of files.
When I do as you suggested for option 2, I do not get the prompt, but the
files are inserted as attachments without an option to do it differently.
I'm using ON 2007.
