Pasting revision-tracked text

MS Word XP. I've got one document with extensive revisions
showing in the text (no balloons). I need to copy and
paste a small portion of this document (several
paragraphs, several pages) into a new document, and want
the tracking to also show in the new document. But when I
paste the tracked text into the new document, all the
changes are automatically accepted, and none of the
revisions show. I've looked through Tools--> Options and
tried fiddling around with the markup dropdown menu and
the paste options button, but to no avail. Any clues,
anybody? Thanks.

There's a way to do this, and if you search Google Groups you may turn up
the answer. I think it has to do with having the revisions *not* displayed
(and/or Track Changes turned off) when you copy the text.

I figured it out. If revision tracking is *off* in the
source document and *off* in the new document, revisions
to the tracked text will show when the text is pasted into
the new document. Whew!

Right you were! Thanks.
