I need to know how to enter selected text from an open
Microsoft Word 2000 document into the "Find" dialogue box
so that I may search for and find similar text in other
parts of the document without actually having to type in
the text into the "Find" dialogue box. I have serched
for the answer in "help" and I have done everythink that
I could think of but nothing seems to work.

I would really appreciate receiving an answer from anyone
who knows.

Thanks

Does Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V not work?

Copy the text to the clipboard by highlighting it, then either select Edit > Copy from the menu, click the copy button on the toolbar, or hold down Ctrl while you press c. Any one of these options will copy the text; you don't have to do all three!

Open the Find dialog, position the cursor in the Find What text box, and hold down Ctrl while you press v.

In Word2003 if you select text before opening Edit>Find or Edit>Replace the
selected text appears automatically.

This is true at least intermittently in most previous versions as well.
