Pasting table columns from one doc into another

Recurring crash problem: Word 2003: Often (but not always---probably one
third of cases), when I copy a table column to the clipboard, then go to
another doc window and hit paste, Word crashes. Later after error-reporting
and Word restart, in Autorecover, I get the chance to save the recovered
file, with "internal data integrity" having been "fixed".
No clue why it happens; no clue why it is intermittent; no hope that anyone
else will care. Just am sick of it happening and decided to document it here
in the discussion group. Any tips, let me know. Maybe programmers will have
heard of this before and will fix it for future versions of Word.

Often copy/paste problems can be caused by an excessive build up of
abandoned temp files in the temp folder (which when all applications are
closed, should be totally empty). See
