Pasting Text from another app into Word2007

I have a database app where I can click a button and the name address of the
record is copied to the clipboard. I canthen paste it into the app of my
choice. When I paste it into a Word97-2003 doc the address looks fine. When I
paste it into a Word2007 docx it treats each line of the address like a
paragraph and puts space between each line. I can always select the text and
remove the space but I'd love not to have ot do that. Is there a way to tell
Word2007 not to treat each line as a paragraph? Below is how the text looks
in Word97-2003 then in Word2007

Word97-2003

Name
Company
Address
City, State Zip

Word2007

Name

Company

Address

City, State Zip

Thanks

chances are, your application is in fact pasting "each line as one
paragraph" into the clipboard.

The reason why Word 2007 displays whitespace between each paragraph is
because the default Normal style in Word 2007 has a "spacing after" set.
You can change that (in your Normal.dotx/.dotm, or in whatever template
you're using to create the documents you paste the other app's data into.

In W2007 the as-delivered (out-of-the-box) spacing for the Normal style is 1.
15 with 10 points of space between paragraphs. Change Normal to single
spacing and no points between ppgs and you'll get what you want.

Because there are so many styles based on Normal and so many places in a doc
where this spacing is not be wanted, I changed my Normal, Normal template,
and the default settings. If you want to keep the as-delivered spacing for
most of your documents, try applying the No spacing style to the text.
