Patch with virus?

I received an alleged "August 2004 Cumulative Patch" for
Outlook, IE, and Outlook Express by unsolicited Email
today. It came from Email address (e-mail address removed).
Norton detected virus W32.Swen@mm contained in the
downloaded file and automatically deleted it.

I am very suspicious of this; I've never received
Microsoft patches by unsolicited Email before.

This is a virus, do not try to install, Microsoft would
never send out patches in emails, that would take an
insane amount of bandwidth to send a message to everyone
that used Microsoft products.
