path change

Tim Seims

When I try to backup my data files on another computer, which has a slightly
different path name for the data files I can't open them, but get an error
message "not a valid path.."

Changing the path in my help menu involves Visual Basic. It seems hard to
beleive that changing the default path to your data would be so difficult.
Is it really?

Thanks,

It's not clear to me exactly what your situation is. Assuming you've got two
databases, a front-end linked to a back-end, and you've changed the location
of the back-end, you can use the Linked Table Manager to relink the tables.

In my opinion, though, it is preferable to use VBA to relink them. If you
like, you can grab the code in http://www.mvps.org/access/tables/tbl0009.htm
at "The Access Web"
