Hi KS
Like Trevor said: all new Calendars can be created under TOOLS / CHANGE
WORKING TIME. This post defines where to use them (sorry if you already know
that).
After you create Calendars for each of these: Project, Task(s), Resource(s)
then you need to assign these calendars to their respective parents. (This
may be a repetition but . . .)
1) Project Calendar is set in the PROJECT/PROJECT INFORMATION form
I presume this would be called the Base Calendar. Maybe a Base Calendar is a
calendar that you use to copy to create others. Functionally, there is no
Base Calendar as far as I Know.
2) Don't forget a hidden risk: right click the time part of the Gantt view
and go to Non-Working Time. Assign the Project Calendar to that otherwise you
won't see the days off that you set.
3) Task: after you create a Task, double click it to get the Task Info box.
On the Advanced Tab you can assign the Calendar of your choice.
4) Resources: on the Resource Sheet itself, there is a column to assign a
calendar to a Resource Sheet. Note that having created a Resource, you can
double click it and get to the Res Info box. There, you can adjust the
specific days of availability for that Resource. For example, 4 different
Resources use the MORNING SHIFT calendar. But Res1 has a holiday from 1 to 30
Sep. Here is where you can specify that.
Hope that fit the purpose!
